René De Silvestro Paralympic Champion | Giant Slalom Gold Milano Cortina 2026

Another defining moment in a journey built on resilience, precision, and relentless determination.

René De Silvestro Paralympic Gold Milano Cortina 2026

René De Silvestro is now a Paralympic Champion.

At the Milano Cortina Paralympic Games, René won Paralympic Gold in the Giant Slalom sitting category, delivering a commanding performance on one of the most demanding courses of the Games.

The conditions in Cortina were extremely difficult. Warm temperatures turned the snow soft and heavy, forcing organizers to salt the course to stabilize the surface. Deep ruts formed quickly and every turn required precision, commitment, and the ability to adapt constantly.

In these conditions, hesitation costs time.

René chose to attack.

Run after run he carried speed through a course that punished mistakes. The snow was unstable, the margins were thin, and every section demanded confidence in the line.

Those risks paid off.

The victory crowns an extraordinary Paralympic campaign for René. Earlier in the Games he had already secured a silver medal in the SuperCombined, after two fourth places that showed just how close he was to the podium.

In the Giant Slalom he delivered when it mattered most.

Eight years ago we filmed the beginning of René’s sit-ski journey when he was only three years into the sport and preparing for his first Paralympic Games.

That film captured the beginning.

Today René stands at the top of the Paralympic podium as a Paralympic Champion on home snow in Cortina.

René, we are proud to stand by your side.
