Paralympic Silver | René De Silvestro Delivers in Cortina

Another chapter in a journey defined by resilience, discipline, and passion for the sport.

René De Silvestro Paralympic Silver Cortina

René De Silvestro has won the silver medal in the Alpine SuperCombined sitting category at the Milano Cortina Paralympic Games.

Racing on home snow in Cortina d’Ampezzo, René delivered a composed and powerful performance in one of the most demanding formats in Para Alpine skiing.

The result comes after two fourth places earlier in the Games and confirms once again his ability to respond under pressure on the biggest stage.

“Dopo due quarti posti dovevo andare a medaglia. A vedere il tempo che avevo fatto ho sperato nell’oro. Pensavo di essere davanti al centesimo, alla fine ha vinto l’olandese, anche lui un grandissimo dello sci. La pista, non pensavo, ma sono riuscita a tenerla perfettamente. Ora testa alle prossime gare tecniche.”

The SuperCombined rewards versatility. Athletes must adapt quickly between disciplines, combining speed and technical precision while staying composed under pressure.

In Cortina, René showed exactly that.

Eight years ago we produced this short film with René when he was only three years into his sit-skiing career and preparing for his first Paralympic Games.

Watching that story today makes this medal even more meaningful.

From the early days captured in that film to a Paralympic podium on home snow, René’s journey has always been defined by determination, resilience, and passion for the sport.

Keep inspiring us.
