Tommy Ford has been repeatedly referred to as the most talented US skier of his generation. If you were to speak with Tommy, or even have the privilege of watching him ski, you could see why. “As far as I can remember I have had skis on my feet every winter. My family has a passion for skiing, in particular ski racing. Sometimes I claim I am more comfortable skiing than walking. Slippery snow sliding in all forms is truly freeing, which keeps me wanting more. Balancing my snow shredding with other life shredding activities, such as school is also fun and keeps things interesting. Shred education never rests and takes many forms.”

A Q&A With Tommy Ford

What about the products are you most psyched on and how do they help you?

I am psyched with the Monocle goggles because of how well they fit and offer a wide range of vision.

What's the perfect day of shredding to you?

A perfect day of shredding would consist of a solid breakfast, steep and technical terrain, powder everywhere except on some slightly grippy injected snow, GS skis, and some floaty powder boards. Tacos! All that followed by a fun banked Mtn bike ride to a boulder session and topped off by a sun set surf.

Gnarliest or scariest experience riding?

A moment where a Slytech back protector and Shred helmet were extremely helpful was during one of the scariest moments of my life.  In the winter of 2013 I was freeskiing between races when I fell, hit a tree, and snapped my femur.  My fall involved hitting a few other trees and that back protector saved my back.  Look before you leap.
