“I’ve been skiing as long as I can remember, it’s a family thing for me. My mom and her three siblings were all Olympic ski racers, and my grandparents started a little ski area in their backyard, Cochran’s Ski Area. In my family skiing has always been about the fun and enjoying what you’re doing. I grew up shredding all around Cochran’s, making jumps, running gates, and just having a blast. It really gave me a strong love and passion for the sport that I carry with me today. I love what I do!”

A Q&A With Robby Kelley

What about the products are you most psyched on and how do they help you?

I love the Shred Slopeside Syrup Half Brain helmet. My brother and cousins started Slopeside Syrup on our grandparents’ land and I think it’s super cool to be able to wear a super comfy, cool looking, and safe helmet, and support and promote my family’s business at the same time. Before I started using Shred goggles I was constantly battling fogging lenses. When you’re working hard and sweating you need goggles that can keep up with you and stay clear in crucial situations. Shred goggles have plenty of ventilation and the best lenses to allow for perfect visibility in any situation.

What's the perfect day of shredding to you?

A perfect day of shredding for me is hanging out at Cochran’s Ski Area when it’s super icy, setting a slalom, getting the rope tow going and just lapping and taking as many runs as I can.

Gnarliest or scariest experience riding?

The gnarliest experience I’ve had on skis has got to be my first month racing FIS. I was starting 130-140 every race and the ruts were taller than me and I was trying to send it as hard as I could. I’ve never been rattled around so hard on skis.
