Maximum safety for the most dangerous missions, in style.

Built by and for the pros who require compliance with the toughest safety standards, Shred has stepped-up and produced the same pro production full helmet for all of us. Now with the revolutionary Slytech Protection 2nd Skin inside, maximum allowed acceleration of the head has been reduced from 250 g’s to 230, more safely cradling your brain than ever before. MEGA BRAIN BUCKET’S production process ensures the highest quality and it features SHREDry inner lining for comfortable and dry fit. Along with removable inner padding, it also features an interchangeable Shred goggle buckle. Complies with CE EN1077 and ASTMF2040 for the highest safety standards.

Unique feature of SHRED hard shell helmets, allows to choose from a kit (sold separately) of bright and colorful goggle retainers to match goggles and outfit.
SHREDry is a breathable, temperature controlling, anti-odor and anti-static inner lining so you will stay dry, comfortable and warmer in the winter and cooler in the summer.
This helmet features Slytech’s latest impact protection innovation with its SLYTECH 2ND SKiN XT Foam Technology. A layer of SLYTECH 2ND SKiN XT is added to provide a progressive shock absorber that intelligently adapts to the different forces and speeds of a crash. The shock absorption increases proportionally to the strength of the impact and to protect completely at any impact level. In addition, the 2ND SKiN XT recovers naturally from the impact and allows for better protection in a series of impacts.
This helmet complies with the new FIS rules for speed alpine ski racing at the World Cup level. DH/SG approved helmets need to absorb substantially more energy on impact in order to better protect the head. The original EN 1077A norm for maximum acceleration of the head is 250g, however, FIS’ new requirement allows for no more than 230g. According to the new FIS rule, helmets need to carry the “DH/SG” label. Our helmets that carry the DH/SG label allow our customers to race speed events at the World Cup level, and provide the peace of mind that they are using the very same top-level safety protection as the world’s top pros.
EN 1077A is a European Standard for Helmets for Alpine Skiers and Snowboarders. Certified EN 1077A helmets pass severe shock absorbing and penetration tests, retention system performance, field of vision and durability. These tests are performed at low, high and room temperature, and also after artificial ageing. These helmets have the plastic shell covering all the way down to the ears, for maximum safety at high speed.
ASTM F2040 is the American National Standard for Helmets Used for Recreational Snow Sports. Certified ASTM F2040 helmets pass very severe dynamic strenght retention, roll-off (for positional stability), and impact tests with three different anvils. At low, high, and room temperature.

How to Fit Your Shred Helmet

Measure your head with a Shred tape at a retail store to determine your size range. Remember though: the best way to choose your helmet is to try it on!

To check if you found the correct size, adjust the retention system properly. You will know the helmet is the right size when it sits snuggly and does not come off when quickly rotating the head forward and backward, as well as side to side.

If you do not have access to helmet for fitting, measure your head with a Shred tape measure by placing it around your head and horizontally over your eyebrows. Feel free to ask the retailers to help you out in the process. They will help you choose the right size.

But there is another way. Download and print out the following sizing tool and follow the instructions on how to properly measure your head:

For USA printer paper format (letter): DOWNLOAD HERE

Measure Your Head

A size 58 helmet corresponds to 58cm circumferance, a size 61 is 61cm, etc….

Remember that every head is different, so the tape measurement may not be as accurate as actually trying the helmet on. The shape of your head is not a perfect circle!

We cannot stress this enough: choose the right helmet size and wear it properly!!!
